Why We're Rethinking the SGI Newsletter

There comes a point when the way you communicate no longer reflects the way you think.
A few years ago, we launched SGI Snippets as another way to stay connected with our community. It gave us a place to share updates about our programs and services, highlight ideas and resources, celebrate client successes, and offer practical insights for lawyers and law firm leaders.
Over time, something changed.
The conversations we were having with lawyers and firm leaders evolved. They became deeper. More strategic. More focused on the realities of leading and working in a profession that's changing at an unprecedented pace.
Today, our conversations are about much more than leadership development or business growth. They're about navigating a changing legal landscape, managing increasing complexity and cognitive load, adapting to evolving client expectations, preparing the next generation of leaders, and creating firms that can thrive through continuous change.
As we looked at our monthly newsletter, we realized it was time for it to evolve too.
Beginning this month, you'll notice a new look and feel to our newsletter. But this redesign isn't simply about aesthetics. It's about creating a publication that better reflects the conversations we're having every day and the role we hope to play in supporting the legal profession.
Instead of simply sharing what we've been doing, we'll be sharing what we're seeing and learning.
The first glimpse of that evolution is the new name: SGI Brief.

We chose Brief intentionally. Not because we have less to say, but because we want to be more thoughtful about how we say it. Lawyers are already carrying a lot, with more information, more decisions, and more demands competing for their attention. So the SGI Brief will be just that: briefer, lighter, and more focused. Something you can read in a few minutes, take an idea or two from, and carry into the conversations that matter most.
Each edition of the SGI Brief will explore the leadership challenges, emerging trends, and practical opportunities we're observing across the legal profession, along with ideas to help firms respond with greater clarity, confidence, and intention.
You'll also find a featured article from our reading list, additional resources for deeper exploration, and a recurring question to take into the month ahead, because we believe some of the best leadership begins with taking the time to reflect.
Leadership isn't built by having all the answers.
It's built by asking better questions.
Our hope is that the SGI Brief becomes more than a newsletter. We hope it becomes a trusted resource for lawyers and law firm leaders. A place to pause, reflect, and explore the ideas shaping the future of the profession.
We look forward to continuing the conversation.
The first edition of the SGI Brief is coming later this month. Subscribe to have it delivered directly to your inbox.
