The Misspell That Leads You Right Where You’re Meant to Go

Every now and then, your analytics hand you a gift.
Ours came in the form of a search term:
“Southern Group.”
When we looked at our site analytics, both “Southren Group” and “Southern Group” were showing up as search terms leading people to our site. No surprise with the first—it’s our name, after all. But “Southern Group”? That one kept popping up too. Again and again. It’s still one of the top ways people are finding us. At first, we laughed. Then we leaned in.
Turns out, it wasn’t a one-off.
People were hearing about us, at conferences, from colleagues, through coaching circles, but they weren’t catching the spelling. So they did what most of us would do: they typed what they heard into Google.
And they found us.
Not just by accident, but with intent.
“Southern Group coaching for lawyers”
“Jane Southern lawyer coach”
“Southern business development for law firms”
Close.
But not quite.
The One-Letter Mix-Up That Keeps Making Sense
We get it. “Southren” isn’t a word you see every day. It’s one of our co-founder’s last name—Jane Southren—and the heart of our brand. But when you hear it aloud, it’s easy to default to the more familiar: Southern.
That tiny typo, though? It says something deeper. It’s a breadcrumb trail from where people are to where they’re meant to go.
What really matters is this: whether you landed here through perfect spelling or predictive text, if you’re looking for a thought partner who gets lawyers, understands law firms, and helps people build practices they actually enjoy running—you’re in the right place.
